we understand this can be a scary time

with the economy disrupted by covid-19, some companies are downsizing. Many people are suddenly out of a job and without health insurance. We understand that the loss of health insurance can be frightening. When you live without insurance, even the most basic care can take a financial toll. therefore, one of the first things you should do at this point is to explore ways to obtain coverage. Here are eight options that might help you get health insurance during these tough times:

coverage through a spouse

If you’re married and your spouse has a coverage option through their job, it’s usually the cheapest option for your spouse to add you and your family to their plan. Or, if your spouse is not currently enrolled in the coverage option through their job, they could enroll and then add you and your family. But don’t delay, there’s a 30-day special enrollment period to make the switch. After that, you and your family won’t be able to join the plan until the standard open enrollment period at your spouse’s company. If you’re under 26, you may even be able to join your parent’s employer-based plan.
